Hildegard Update - Week 2
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jul 24, 2021 at 04:27:18 AM

It’s been another great week! Thanks as always for the incredible support!

We blasted through those stretch goals fast! I’ve mentioned before that this is a lean, focused campaign. The stretch goals will be as well. With that in mind, I felt the best way to enhance the game's experience was through some additional cards and embellishments. Some game garnishes, if you will.

Sy Gardner will now be doing at least 5 exterior illustrations for Hildegard. Next up, he will be working on the Mercantile, a key location in Chapter 1.

400 cards may seem like a lot, but it’s been a challenge packing everything in there! I looked through Chapters 1 and 2 — asked myself if I had a few extra cards, what would I add? Achievement cards were first on my list. What they are, and how they work will remain a mystery, but we have 2 of them now! I’m grateful for that. The other thing on the list was more fish and critter cards. When I first started the game, I thought I would have more room for them, but I realized very quickly that they were taking up valuable card real estate. Every time I wanted to throw in another fish or critter card, I realized I would have to give up a story/choice card. The fish lost out every time. I want more fish!

The card count is now resting at 403. Next Friday (July 30th) I’ll post 4 more stretch goals. Let’s see if we can add a few more pretty pictures and extra cards to the deck! Which brings me to Diego who is on a roll banging out new character art! Here’s a look at the latest! You don’t want to run into this guy!

That’s it for now! See you next week.

Hildegard: Mini Update - Week 1
almost 3 years ago – Sat, Jul 17, 2021 at 01:23:09 AM

Wow. Things are going great! It's only day 4!

My goal is to have updates on Fridays while the Kickstarter is active. This one's brief.

Between Kickstarter shenanigans, I’ve managed to squeeze in some actual game work. The first complete pass of Chapter 2 is finished. Christian (the editor) has already been sent the files for his revisions and our regular read-throughs. I'm happy to have that portion turned in.

As mentioned in the last update, Diego is doodling away on some more great stuff for Chapter 1! I already have 2 characters turned that I'm working with. Here's a look at one of them...

Note: Next week I will be less present on a minute-by-minute basis to answer questions and concerns. I'll be back in full swing the following week. That’s not to say I won’t be around. I'ill do my best to get back to everyone as soon as I can.

I think that's about it! Thanks again! I gotta say, it's awesome being Diego's colorist on these illustrations - my favorite part of the job by far!

Onward! - Greg

Hildegard’s Adventure Begins!
almost 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 14, 2021 at 04:33:30 AM

What a day, what a start! I’d like to thank everyone who has already signed up for high adventure! I feel great about the project, where it’s at today, and where it’s going. It’s been incredible to see this level of support so early on!

Diego and I are already feverishly working on the remaining illustrations for Chapter 1. I hope to have some fun new images to show off soon.

As mentioned on the campaign page there are some card-related stretch goals planned. I will pop some of those up later in the week!

Updates aren’t as much fun without pictures! Below is a look at the most recent, and largest illustration Diego turned over for me to color. I finished it up just in time for the launch. It’s tentatively planned for the back of the box, or instruction book.

Here we go!
