The Backerkit Pledge manager is closing in 48 hours. If your address, add-ons, and payment information are correct, there is nothing to do at this time. If not, please make any adjustments now. Here is the link to do so.
Please Note: Your shipping address can still be changed after the PM closes.
I will let you know how manufacturing is going in the next update and start talking about fulfillment dates.

Pledge Manager & Production

Mass production is imminent! My final production notes were given last Friday. I am just waiting for the Eproofs to approve, then we hit the printers!
As mentioned in the last update, I have secured both fulfillment companies (domestic and abroad) and am confident that we are in good hands. Please remember that the campaign estimates were based on the 2021 shipping prices. For the United States, the single-unit shipping rate has increased by $2.75. The UK and EU estimates are the same. The rest of the world’s rates vary between $1-$5 more per unit.
The estimate for adding a Playmat was accurate, $1-$3 per shipment. It weighs 8 ounces and needs a larger box for shipping.
You can purchase up to 3 games, 3 playmats and micro expansions total. Shipping is significantly less on multiple games.
The Backerkit Pledge Manager will close on May 31st. Please adjust your add-ons accordingly. Shipping rates and VAT taxes are now listed.
IMPORTANT - If you have not completed your survey (from Backerkit - sent out last September) with the correct credit card and address information by May 31st, I cannot guarantee that you will receive a reward. You can get to your survey here:
Add-Ons, Shipping, and applicable VAT taxes will be charged in June. I am waiting until then to rule out any unforeseen complications that could cause delays. I have no indication that will happen, just a precaution.
If all goes according to plan, production will wrap in early July. On the last campaign, I fulfilled regions right away that were not headed for freight. BUT, since the world has changed so dramatically in terms of freight delivery times (even in the past 9 months), I may hold onto everything and deliver all at once. In the good old days of 2019, it was 4-6 weeks for freight. Now it is 6-8. Part of me wants to get some games in Backer’s hands in July, but the majority of us, me included, would not see them for another 8 to 9 weeks. I am going to wait this out and make a decision once production wraps.
Okay, let’s move on to some fun stuff!

Hildegard Micro Expansion & Pledge Manager News

For those of you who might have missed it, a small 11-card add-on for Hildegard is available in the Backerkit Pledge Manager (See illustration above). I am calling it a 'Micro Expansion, Bows & Breakfast.'
I've made another quick video about it—apologies in advance for my overuse of the word ‘fun” and some shaky cam. This is a work in progress! If you’re interested, check it out!
We also have a video from our fantastic artist Diego! A central part of the game involves some pesky Archers. Here is a look at his process. If you are like me, it’s fascinating to watch artists create. I owe a lot to him and his incredible work.
PLEDGE MANAGER CLOSING TIME & SHIPPING COSTS
The Pledge Manager is tentatively closing May 31st, please plan accordingly.
I am finalizing the arrangement with two fulfillment companies—one for domestic delivery and one for everywhere else. It should be all set by early next week. By the end of next week, I plan to have firm shipping costs for you, which gives you a healthy week and a half to finalize your add-ons. As you all know, 2022 shipping prices have increased, I’ve been meeting with fulfillment companies for weeks now, and I think we are in reasonably good shape, all things considered. Currently, it’s looking like the average shipping costs will increase by around $2-$3.
Add-ons and Shipping charges will occur in June. I am increasing the number of games you can buy to at least 3, most likely more. I will have that information next week as well.
I will have additional information on the manufacturing, freight, and delivery dates in June.
